Red and Orange relates to the warmer incoming water found in southern states. The American Heat ADK units stand alone, in-tandem with other ADK units, units in parallel and use of the larger, more powerful American Heat AH Models for bigger hot water users or for those living in areas of colder incoming water are considerations. Green and Blue indicates those states that have cooler incoming water and should have a combination of ADK units in tandem, parallel or use of the larger American Heat AH models. American Heat AH heaters should be the choice in the northern USA and Canada. An alternative would be to again use a pre-warm unit attached to a more powerful Super ADK unit or AH unit for those using a smaller flow rate.

Temperature Rise Chart. Use this with the North American temperature map as a guide to your possible tankless water heater needs.

Temperature Rise Chart as illustrated here shows the green area for most standard bathtubs. If you have a pressure balanced bathtub faucet and shower valve then seek help from a plumber. These faucets usually require at least a 3 GPM flow rate for hot water flow. The temperatures in yellow will offer a shower and a slower standard tub faucet. The area in orange indicates one shower head with restricted flow in GPM. The models in red should not be used in your area except in a possible pre-warm application for another, more powerful unit. Note that the ADK-4 offers little heat rise. This might work well on a restricted faucet in a small sink. Be aware that the heat rise offered is small. The ADK-4 is the smallest unit offered at American Heat and is rated at 110 Volts at 30 AMP at a Max of around 3.2 kilowatts.

The temperature rise chart illustrates the flow rates and temperature rise which can be achieved with the different ADK Models. The chart is based on a 240 volt input voltage and maximum flow rates are listed for various incoming water temperature levels. If your home or business has less than 240 volt power (208v), your flow rate will be lower. Simply look up your incoming water temperature and desired flow rate to determine your model choice. Temperature of your incoming water change throughout the year. When planning the final replacement of your old tank water heater then be sure to find the cold incoming water in the winter when calculating your temperature rise.
